Baby K update

I know not everyone knows what was going on earlier this week, so I thought I'd give a little update on baby K. Monday morning I was admitted to the hospital for premature labor/rupture of membranes. I was released on Wednesday afternoon, without a clear diagnosis as to what happened, but blessed with knowing I'm no longer having contractions, and don't need to stay in the hospital until the baby is born.

I'm 33 weeks along, and was having contractions 2-4 minutes apart for several hours on Monday, we thought I was going to have to have a C-section to get baby K out since he's breeched. After pumping me with fluids and monitoring my amniotic fluid levels I was monitored for the next few days until my fluid levels were up and it was clear I didn't have a major leak! My contractions stopped and it appears as if everything's moving along smoothly now. The doctor is having me come in weekly and monitoring baby K closely. The really great thing about all of this is that the baby is doing wonderfully, his heart rate is awesome, he has fetal breathing with is a really good sign at this point and is moving around like crazy.

Thanks for everyone who prayed and called this week, we really appreciate everything and are so blessed by all of you! I can't wait for you all to meet baby K, but am glad it's going to be a few more weeks :)

Luau Power

A few weeks ago our friends Scott & Melissa had a "luau" at their home for fun & to celebrate Mel's awesome recovery from brain surgery. We played chineese horseshoes, and hung out and chatted all night.

Our Lone Summer Hike

This summer has been quite different from last summer in regards to the outdoors & our hikes -- just take a look at the blogs from this time last year and it's very obvious! However, at least it's due to the baby, the altitude & the hiking is too intense for my heart rate according to the doctor, so I've had to take it easy exercise-wise.
We did make it out one weekend in Boulder with Berkley to hike Chataqua Trail. Here are some pictures! I'm very excited that one of my girlfriends told me about a "club" for moms, Colorado Mountain Mama's that organizes hikes/snowshoeing etc. for moms with kids! I'm looking forward to a snowshoe outing with baby K :)

Montana Showers

About a month ago in July I had two showers in Montana. Here are some pictures from them -- I only have one picture from one of the showers, it's of a quilt my "step"-grandma made for baby K, it's this awesome jungle theme with colors that match the nursery perfectly! The second shower was given to me by my brother's best-friend's mom, Sissy. It was an amazing time of fellowship with some of my Christian "moms" from over the years.
