MOPS Craft - Bath Salts

This is a craft I created for MOPS.  It was a huge hit!  If you love to take baths, use it for that or if you're more of a foot soak gal (or guy!) that would be great too.  This recipe makes enough for 1 C. of bath salts.

I made Lemon Lollipop with Lemon essential oil

The Recipe:
2/3 C. Epsom Salts
1/4 C. Baking Soda
1 tsp. glycerin
5-15 drops of your favorite essential oil (depending on fragrance intensity preference)

I bought these 8oz mason jars on www.thejarstore.com they were about 80 cents apiece with shipping.  The bath supplies were all purchased at www.vitacost.com at a fraction of the cost you'd pay for them at the drugstore or natural food store.  All in all, they cost about $2/person if you're using them as a craft for a large group.  Our MOPS group has about 60 women.
There are a ton of essential oils out there.  Here's what I bought: eucalyptus, lemon oil, sweet orange oil, clove oil (my favorite for after a good workout), vanilla, jasmine, and lavender (a relaxing favorite).

Other ideas for bath salts were too add in sea salt or dried flowers (ex. lavender flowers).  The glycerin is great for dry skin and the baking soda helps the salts to foam and dissolve more evenly in addition to it's soothing and cleansing properties.  Epsom salts are known as a healing element and are great for sore muscles.

Make them for yourself, a friend, your mama, or your hubby!  Enjoy,

This craft definitely was a hit. I heard many of the girls raving about it as we put them together at the tables. :)
