May at our Casa

Grady 'talking' on my phone, too cute - see the video below for a clip of the conversation :)

Working on potty training -- work is the key here..

Friday night Grady took a tumble down the basement stairs while rescuing his dinosaurs (that were on timeout).  He was pushing the rubbermaid container up the stairs and fell and hit his chin on the concrete floor.  He was very swollen under his chin and in front of his gums.  He's looking much better today and is in good spirits.  He had his first trip to the ER for this one, we were pretty scared, but no broken bones, just a little oompa-loompaish :)

Unveiling God's Love in the Daily Stuff of Life

I'm addicted to Chocolove's Sea Salt & Almond Chocolate Bar *sigh*.  They are delightful - I spread a whole bar over one or two weeks.  I just recently noticed these little notes of love on the inside of the wrapper.  Today's touched me so beautifully, and spoke to me of the constant presence of God's love.  Although written from a romantic perspective, read it as if God is saying this to you - He is.

from Inspiration to Love

Come when the nights are bright with stars
Or when the moon is mellow;
Come when the sun his golden bars
          Drops on the hay-field yellow.
Come in the twilight soft and gray,
Come in the night or come in the day,
Come, O Love, when'er you may,
          And you are welcome, welcome...

...Come when my heart is full of grief
          Or when my heart is merry;
Come with the falling of the leaf
          Or with the redd'ning cherry.
Come when the year's first blossom blows
Come when the summer gleams and glows.
Come with the winter's drifting snows.
           And you are welcome, welcome.

Paul Laurence Dunbar

Isn't this the truth that we long for to be true, and it is!  God just wants us to come, rest in His love.  Know that we were created by Him and delighted in by Him.  Sometimes it seems too good to be true, that the Creator of our world, of us and all around us actually wants to know us and smiles upon us with love, but how amazing that it is truth, for He has written it in His letter to us.

Hell: We can't afford to get it wrong.

There's been a lot of controversy over Rob Bell's new book, "Love Wins." I have not read the book, but have read Frances Chan's, including "Crazy Love." In this video clip Chan touches on the controversy and offers food for thought as we ponder our thoughts and what we *think* God should or should not think or do.

Only 3 more weeks until I compete in the Broomfield Mini-HaHa Triathlon!  It's a 6 Olympic lap swim, 12 mile bike ride and 2 mile run.

Wow, it's coming up fast.  I have been working out like crazy, running, biking, swimming & weight training.  It's given me great motivation to work off some of my Lucy weight.  I'm part of a team with my Chiropractor's office.  We meet every Saturday morning and bike the course and run 2 miles.  I'd have to say I expected biking to be the easiest part of the picture and it's definitely not...there's a hill in the course and well, 12 miles is 12 miles!  I definitely think the biggest challenge is the transition between courses.  My legs feel like lead when I hop off the bike to run, but each time gets easier.

We joined the local Rec Center and have been loving it!  Grady asks to go to the "T-Rex Center" everyday! They have a great swimming pool complete with water slides & kid area, so Grady is always asking to go swim. Childcare is free with a membership so I've been taking full advantage of that to get my workouts in and get a little mommy alone-time!
