Colorado Springs, Father's Day and the BIG 3-0

This Father's Day was also Bryan's 30th Birthday!  Bryan is not a party boy, so we opted for a family weekend in Colorado Springs.  We stayed at a fun campground in a one room cabin - and our kids did awesome!  They even slept in a bit for Daddy's big day.  We spent the weekend at the Spree Days Festival, taking in the Seven Falls and the Garden of the Gods.  Colorado Springs has some of the best scenery in the country, it is just amazing.  I can't believe it took us so long to get down there and check it out.  We'll definitely be back soon to do some more sight-seeing and hiking!

Enjoy my boatload of photos!  I couldn't decide with so many great scenery shots and photos of the little ones.
The Garden of the Gods - takin' a break on the cool red rocks.

Resting in the stroller...not sure why Grady looks upset, he had a great time.

My crazy girl - she has some of the best expressions!

At Seven Falls - we hiked up the stairs with the kids on our backs...224 stairs to the top of the falls and 185 more stairs to the to of the Eagle's Nest (a view of the falls from farther back).  It was quite the evening workout!

At night they light the falls up - it was beautiful.

Notice the caffeine?  I guess 30 requires it..:)

We might have a little rock climber on our hands!

What a great weekend we had!  Happy Birthday Bryan, you are an amazing Dad, Husband & Man!  30 will be the best year yet :)  We Love You!!

Mini-HaHa Triathlon - the first and not the last

I completed my first triathlon! It was a great experience and I had a lot of fun.  I am proud of myself for making the commitment to train and 'compete.'  I completed it in less time than I originally planned for and felt really good throughout and after the race. The race consisted of a 350 yard swim, 12 mile bike ride (with hills) and a 2.1 mile run.  I would like to do it again next year..and see if I can convince Bryan to do it with me!

Summer Start

At the beginning of June my parents visited for a long weekend.  We enjoyed walking around the Sidewalk Chalk Festival in downtown Denver.  Grady learned to fish with Daddy & Papa (do not fear, pictures are on my other camera...I will post soon.)

This was Grady's favorite piece of Sidewalk art:

Nana and Papa went with us to Peter Pan park.  Grady played in the fountains and Lucy soaked her feet a bit in the water and cuddled with Nana.

Grady always seems to move his face away from the fountain in the nick of time! One of these days he won't be so lucky!
